Our Mission

At Chaka, our mission is to bridge cultures through trade. We are a marketplace that sells high-end, handmade artisan products from across the globe. We believe the American market has been deprived of many beautiful, high quality items for themselves or their homes simply because foreign artisans lacked the requisite exposure...until now. We are beginning in Ecuador but are targeting products from Rwanda, Ivory Coast, and many more countries.  

But we don't stop there. For every product you purchase, we will donate a backpack to a child in need in an effort to bridge the education gap in the country of origin.

According to recent analysis by UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report team, nearly 60 million people could escape poverty if all adults had just two more years of schooling. At Chaka we believe that reducing the cost of attendance increases the chances of a student staying in school for those crucial extra years.

For every item you purchase through Chaka we will donate a locally-sourced backpack to a child in need in the country of origin of the purchased item.

We also want you, the customer, to have the opportunity to see what a difference your purchases through Chaka make. At checkout, there will be a space for referral emails. For every customer you refer to Chaka, you will get an entry for the chance to win an all-inclusive trip to come with us to donate the backpacks! There are no limits on the number of entries, and for each customer that puts your email in the referral space at checkout, you will receive an entry for the drawing!
